Principle Five – Flexibility – If it’s not working change what your doing.
“Is this action getting me the outcome that I want?”
Last week we spoke about Feedback and if the current action will not reach the outcome you desire then you must have the behavioural flexibility to change what you are doing and do something different.
Sometimes things don’t always work out the first time we may just need to change what we do to get a different result. Disney went to 302 banks before anyone would lend him the money he kept on changing his presentation until he got a yes and the rest is history.
Successful salespeople ask for the sale if there is a no they don’t give up they might get 9 NO the 10th might be a YES. Keep on improving and do it differently.
Behavioural flexibility applies to the sales process, workplace, communicating with others, career goals and our personal life. There will be times when you will need to make changes many times before you get the outcome you want.
Questions to continually ask yourself:
1. What outcome am I looking for?
2. What action am I taking?
3. What results am I getting?
4. If it’s not the results you want, what do you need to do differently?
